If you've got an oil based lubricant on there, it will stay greasy and slippery... I've actually had couplings come off while driving under boost in a non-Z32 (even with a t-bolt clamp nice and tight), because the slippery silicone has slipped off the pipe. In this case, it's more difficult to happen since the hardpipes and connectors are kind of trapped in place and the pipes have a bead around the lip, but peace of mind means a lot to me. That's why I use just water that will be slick at first but that will dry to hold it in place. Still a PIA though.
